Top tips to help you gain the most out of the interview process 

Timing

Be punctual, for in person meetings always arrive early. Give yourself enough time to prepare and make the necessary travel arrangements. If delayed inform the point of contact accordingly. 

Online meetings, log onto the video call at least 5-10minutes prior to the call. Get a glass of water, breath and compose yourself. 

Presentable 

Always look presentable, with the modern world and changing cultures there has been a shift to smart casual attire. However, first impressions still count! Make sure you are dressed as you would if you were working at the company and how you feel comfortable. 

Research

Do you research. 

Read the job description and look thoroughly through the company website. 

Look online for any recent news / media accountments, related to the company or particular industry. 

Also learning the companies competitors can give you valuable insight. 

Questions

Ask questions! The interview is as much for you as it is for the employer. Make sure you learn about the working environment and culture of the company / team you will be joining. Even the simplest of questions can allow you to get an idea of the type of company you may be joining. 

Such as working hours, do people stay late? Remote working? Holiday day allowance, bonus, pension, medical insurance, dental insurance, other benefits and perks? 

Follow up

Often overlooked, but this makes a huge impression on the hiring manager. 

We highly recommend sending a polite follow up email outlining what you enjoyed about the meeting and where your top skillsets align with the job. 

This can also help to prompt quick feedback, showing a pro-active approach to your work.
